Work Site: Shelter Island/Juneau
Employment Period: On or about May 1st through September 15th
Duties
- Regular maintenance of lodge fleet of boats: five 26’ North River boats with twin 150hp motors and a 9.9hp trolling motor, one 24’ Harbor Craft boat with a 250hp motor and a 9.9hp trolling motor, and 4 skiffs with single 40hp-90hp motors.
- Regular maintenance of lodge vehicles: two passenger vans, three pick-up trucks, and one box truck.
- Regular maintenance of lodge generators: two 32kw generators.
- Regular maintenance of lodge water and septic systems which include pumps and filters.
- Trouble shooting and repair of miscellaneous lodge equipment.
- Make daily maintenance record entries into a log book.
- Drive skiff or boat to town (5 miles to marina) for parts or supplies as needed.
- Miscellaneous duties related to lodge operations as needed.
Requirements
- Must be in good health and able to lift 80 pounds.
- Must have boating experience.
- Automotive or Marine repair experience helpful.
- Must enjoy working in an outdoor environment.
- Must be able to conduct daily tasks with limited or no supervision.
- Must be able to get along with fellow workers in a remote setting.
- Must submit results of drug screen urinalysis prior to employment. Results of drug screen must indicate no use of illegal or dangerous drugs including marijuana.
Compensation/Benefits
- Hourly pay rate DOE + tips. Average 8 hour per day 5-7 days a week. Paychecks are distributed bi-monthly.
- Housing - Private room with shared bathroom/shower facilities. Bedding, towels, and laundry facilities available.
- Meals - Daily breakfast, lunch, and dinner are provided while at the lodge.
- Company is required to withhold applicable federal taxes from paychecks.
- Covered for work related injuries/illnesses by worker’s compensation insurance.
- Unemployment insurance.
- Employees reimbursed for travel expenses upon completion of contract.
